Making veterinary education more accessible and inclusive for students from a diverse range of backgrounds is a top priority for the Veterinary Schools Council.
In September 2024, we published a report analysing the current demographics of applicants to veterinary medicine courses across the United Kingdom, and an action plan aimed at advancing equity, diversity and inclusion at all stages of the pipeline into the veterinary profession.
We are in the process of establishing a working group to drive this vital work forward in collaboration with other organisations across the veterinary sector.
